Essential Components to Monitor for Optimal Vehicle Performance

Essential Components to Monitor for Optimal Vehicle Performance

Many people neglect motorcycle maintenance and only seek repairs when their vehicle suffers severe damage. This practice not only proves costly but also significantly impacts the motorcycle's performance and lifespan. To keep your beloved motorcycle running optimally, the following components require regular maintenance.

For optimal motorcycle performance, regular maintenance of critical components is essential

1. Wheels - Tires and Rims

Wheels are components that make direct contact with the road surface. Therefore, they wear easily and require frequent inspection. If you notice tire sidewalls bulging or tire treads becoming thin (very low tread depth), you should replace the tires immediately.

Another important note is to inflate tires to an appropriate pressure level to ensure tire pressure maintains a balanced state (neither underinflated nor overinflated). This will help your motorcycle operate stably and extend tire lifespan.

Ensure tires maintain appropriate pressure

Additionally, you should inspect the rims for rust or warping. If detected, take your motorcycle to an authorized service center or repair shop for technical staff to handle.

To ensure safe riding, many experts recommend replacing brake pads after approximately 15,000 km of travel.

However, brake pad wear and lifespan also depend significantly on other factors such as: riding conditions (city or highway driving), speed control, rider weight, frequency of braking, brake pad material, etc. Consider replacing brake pads if you notice the following signs: strange noises or squealing when braking, reduced braking effectiveness.

Additionally, during operation, brake fluid may become contaminated, reducing braking effectiveness. Therefore, inspect and replace brake fluid every 15,000 – 20,000 km.

Inspect and refill with new brake fluid every 15,000 km

3. Spark Plugs

Spark plugs are critical motorcycle components. After extended use, spark plug electrodes wear out, causing uneven ignition and increased fuel consumption. According to expert recommendations, you should regularly inspect and replace spark plugs every 10,000 – 15,000 km.

4. Battery
