1. Introduction to Motul oils
Motul is a high-quality oil brand developed by Swan & Finch (a subsidiary of New Jersey’s Standard Oil, established in 1853 in New York, USA).
In 1932, Supra Penn negotiated with Swan & Finch for exclusive distribution rights of authentic Motul lubricant products in the French market. The year 1953 marked the 100th anniversary of Swan & Finch, during which many new products under the Motul brand were developed and introduced to other countries worldwide.
By 1957, Swan & Finch announced the cessation of all business activities. Supra Penn acquired all assets and patents related to the Motul brand. From then on, Motul was renamed Motul S.A. and became the flagship product of Supra Penn.
In 1971, Motul innovated its technology and launched the 100% synthetic lubricant product 300V for cars. In subsequent years, Motul continuously expanded its market to countries such as Germany, Spain, the USA, Italy, Russia, and India. To date, Motul is present in over 100 countries worldwide, including Vietnam.
