Repsol Racing Oil - The Top Choice for Winner

Repsol Racing Oil - The Top Choice for Winner

Starting from the Winner 150 and most recently the Winner X, the Winner series has undergone significant design innovations. However, due to its unique engine configuration, selecting the right type of oil for your Winner motorcycle has proven difficult for many. Currently, Repsol oil is one of the most popular choices for enthusiasts looking to maintain their "steed" Winner.

The Winner is a highly favored sports semi-automatic motorcycle.

1. What Makes the Winner's Engine Unique?

The first condition for selecting the appropriate oil for your motorcycle is understanding the engine's structure and operation. The Winner is a semi-automatic motorcycle with a vertical engine design. This means that components such as camshaft, rocker arms, bearings, and cylinder head are positioned high.

The Winner's engine is quite unique, requiring specific oil types.

Due to this configuration, when changing the oil for the Winner, special attention should be given to selecting an oil with moderate viscosity, such as Repsol Oil. This ensures that the oil circulates easily from the oil pan to these high-mounted components for lubrication and protection. A moderate viscosity also helps the motorcycle achieve optimal performance as it reduces the resistance from engine oil friction during operation.

The semi-automatic motorcycle has an oil-immersed clutch that uses friction discs; the wet friction of the engine oil allows these discs to transmit torque from the engine to the rear wheel. Therefore, to optimize engine operation, major oil manufacturers worldwide have developed products specifically tailored for this motorcycle segment.

Using regular, non-optimized oils can reduce vehicle performance. Moreover, such oils may negatively affect the clutch's effectiveness and shorten the engine's lifespan. This is the primary reason why the selection of specialty oils for motorcycles becomes crucial. So, what kind of oil should be used for the Winner? Is Repsol Racing oil the perfect choice?

There are many different oil types available on the market suitable for the Winner series. Regardless of the oil type, several standards should be noted:

  • - Specialized oil for semi-automatic motorcycles, with additives that support the clutch and transmission.
    - Synthetic oil base.
    - API quality rating of SL.
    - Common SAE viscosity ratings such as 5W40, 10W40, or 10W50.
    - JASO MA or MA2.
  • Currently, there are many products on the Vietnamese oil market that meet these standards. However, it's advisable to consider well-known
