Defying many speculations about a victory for Marc Marquez – the reigning champion of the 2018 Malaysia GP, the championship of the 18th round of the MotoGP 2019 season went to Maverick Vinales - a rider from the Yamaha team. Such unexpected and dramatic elements always remain a powerful attraction for fans of this high-speed sport.

Marc Marquez started the race at the holy ground of Sepang from the last position (11th), due to an accident during the qualifying round. However, this did not deter the fighting spirit of the reigning champion; he quickly surged past other competitors to rise to 5th place shortly after the start. This was followed by tense battles and close encounters that captivated the audience, allowing him to join the leading group and secure a second podium finish.

Meanwhile, Maverick Vinales started from the second position, which allowed him to capitalize on the opportunity to take the lead and maintain a safe distance from the other competitors. However, his challenge lay at the end of the race, as he had to remain focused to avoid the errors in the final turns that had previously cost him in several rounds of the MotoGP 2019 season. The third position was occupied by seasoned rider Andrea Dovizioso with his Desmosedici GP.
