1. What is Automotive Lubricant Oil? What Makes the Imported Versions Special?

As the name suggests, automotive lubricant oil is a specialized engine lubricant designed specifically for vehicles. Typically, this type of oil is created by combining base oil (also known as mineral oil) with various additives. These additives enhance the distinctive properties of the base oil while balancing performance to meet stringent automotive industry standards.

Currently, most automotive oils available in Vietnam are imported lubricants from foreign markets such as Germany, the United States, France, Spain, and England. These countries are specialized in automotive and lubricant production. Each product undergoes strict and thorough quality testing by local authorities before being released to the market to ensure superior product quality.

2. Composition of Imported Automotive Lubricant Oil

Base oil is the liquid obtained after crude oil refining or treatment with organic chemical compounds. The blending ratio of these lubricant types is 90-95% base oil and 5-10% additives. Clearly, product quality primarily depends on the quality of the base oil.

Typically, imported automotive oils come in both gasoline engine and diesel engine varieties. However, depending on requirements and processing methods, oils are classified into three types: mineral base oil, fully synthetic base oil, and semi-synthetic base oil.
