1. Suitable Lubricant for Automatic Scooters
Exciter is a highly popular Yamaha automatic scooter with multiple variants. Consumers love the Exciter partly for its distinctive and eye-catching appearance, and partly for its powerful engine performance, high speed, and durability. For this reason, selecting the right lubricant for your "machine" is a concern for many Exciter enthusiasts.
Currently, there are 2 types of lubricants that are popular and recommended for automatic scooters: mineral oil and synthetic oil. Let us explore the differences between these two oils.
1.1. Mineral-Based Lubricant (Semi-Synthetic)
Mineral oil is derived from crude oil distillation. With simple raw materials, easy availability, and uncomplicated processing, mineral-based oil has the lowest price among all lubricants.
However, mineral oil is only suitable for older engines that do not require frequent maintenance and renovation. This is because this oil type is primarily composed of alkanes and cycloalkane organic compounds, containing insoluble impurities such as paraffin, wax, and dirt, which compromise lubrication effectiveness and negatively impact engine performance.

1.2. Synthetic-Based Lubricant
This oil is obtained through physical and chemical processing of hydrocarbon components from crude oil. There are 2 types: fully synthetic and semi-synthetic oils.
Synthetic-based lubricant not only retains the best characteristics of mineral oil but also offers superior properties that overcome mineral oil's shortcomings, such as heat resistance, reduced impact from external factors, and fewer insol
