1. Meaning of 0W20 oil grade
Amsoil's 0W20 oil is a popular fully synthetic engine oil with low viscosity and high quality, maximizing fuel savings for modern engines on the market.
The number before the W indicates the cold temperature at which the oil can function normally. The smaller this number, the higher the cold resistance of the oil. Subtracting 30 from this number gives the starting temperature of the engine. For 0W20 oil, 0 minus 30 results in -30. This means that this oil will help the engine start efficiently at temperatures as low as -30ºC.
The number after the W corresponds to the oil's thickness. The higher this number, the thicker the oil. As a result, the speed of oil flow will be slower. This type of oil has a thickness of 20, which is relatively low, allowing it to easily move oil to the engine's components.

2. Outstanding characteristics of 0W20 motor oil
- 0W20 oil is a premium 100% synthetic lubricant with low viscosity.
- 0W20 motor oil has a low viscosity, flows well at low temperatures, thus facilitating quicker and easier engine starts. In particularly cold environments, regular engine oil tends to solidify, making it difficult to pump into engine parts. With its low viscosity, 0W20 oil can easily flow through the engine's narrow gaps, reducing friction and increasing oil pressure, ensuring effective engine starts.
- This oil maintains viscosity stability at high temperatures, protecting the engine from wear and oxidation. When temperatures become too high, conventional engine oil can thin out and provide less lubrication. High-quality synthetic 0W20 can maintain its viscosity and lubrication properties even in high heat conditions.
