7 Important Tips for Riding Motorcycles During the Rainy Season

For vehicles on the road, especially motorcycles, the rainy season poses many hazards due to urban flooding, slippery roads, numerous potholes, falling trees, and more. Beyond safety concerns, rainwater infiltrating the engine can corrode parts, cause rust on components, and increase motorcycle oil change costs along with other expenses. 1. Slow down when encountering slippery, flooded road sections

Before leaving home, update yourself on low-lying areas and flooded zones to avoid those roads. Driving in rain significantly reduces visibility and increases the risk of accidents, so travel slowly to respond promptly to hazards. Never brake suddenly as the road is very slippery and prone to skidding.

If your home is in an area frequently prone to flooding, prepare preventive measures in advance. If you must travel on a road that tends to flood during rain, pay attention and remember sections with potholes to avoid them. Prolonged water submersion will rust the engine and increase motorcycle oil change costs.

2. Find safe shelter from the rain

When there is a storm or strong gusts of wind during rain, immediately find shelter to ensure safety for both yourself and your vehicle. Remember, never shelter under trees as they attract lightning strikes and can easily fall, creating danger for you.
